The authors have written this concise book targeted at undergraduate and postgraduate students of medical and biomedical sciences and researchers. Very nominally priced, the book is neatly organized into 13 chapters with topics arranged in a logical and meaningful sequence.

The chapters are presented in a simple, lucid, and easily understandable text. Although comparatively small sized at <200 pages, the spectrum of topics covered is very wide-ranging from presentation of statistical data to methods of different types of regression and meta-analysis. As is the requirement for a biostatistics book, this manuscript is extremely rich in various types of illustrations, diagrams, tables, flow charts, etc. Applications of various statistical tests and techniques in published literature have been provided at the end of each chapter in the bibliography. The most heartening aspect is that most of these references pertain to Indian studies. The authors have also provided statistical exercises at the end of each chapter for self- practice by students.

The outlay of the book in blue, black, and white has an aesthetic feel in it. Although many new books on biostatistics have been written in the last decade by public health physicians and biostatisticians in India, this new addition to the existing catalog is highly welcome. The book makes enjoyable reading, has a creative novelty to it, and fulfills the purpose for its intended readers.
