Sir,
I appreciate the writer's efforts to critically review the paper based on the oration delivered by me and provide constructive suggestions. [1] The issues raised by the writer are quite valid and I fully agree that they should find a mention in any comprehensive treatise on public health in India. However, given the time constraint in delivering an oration, I was compelled to highlight the issues that require immediate attention of the policy makers and officials. The other issues as highlighted by the letter writer are quite pertinent in the long run and efforts at addressing them will dovetail into the overall effort of improving the public health situation in India- a herculean task toward which we all are committed.
